Travel
lPictured above is a photo of the volcano and its Lagoon in Quilotoa, Ecuador. It has taken me many years of hard work to be able to find the strength, stability, and independence to travel alone, but I highly recommend it to anyone once they are ready to take that leap. As I explored Ecuador on my own. I realize that all people have a unique capacity to give something back to this world, but they need to find it within themselves first. Ecuador was not the first time I encountered that lesson, but being in a new place surrounded by a different culture and language reminded me of that. I will continue to return to that belief throughout my own life and with teaching. As the context of our lives change, we, too, have to adapt.
Blogs that inspire me
Universe as Text
In this blog, an AP Language and Communications teacher shares her suggests, problems, and real student examples to help teacher gain insight on what is effective. This has been a great tool for me ever since I discover that she also remembers the golden rule of reading: It is a window and a mirror to understanding the world and ourselves.
Seth's Blog
In this blog, Seth Godin advises his readers to think more broadly about the way a creator interacts with his audience. As an alternative thinker in business, his words try to push people to think differently about how they use their words, share their ideas, and push themselves to grow. His blog posts are short, to the point, and written as to challenge your thinking. Frequently, he opens up the discussion by using a question to explore the thought.
