Independent Reading
The more you read, the smarter you grow. Reading is the foundation for all of your other knowledge to grow and expand. Do you want to be good at Social Studies? Read more historical fiction? Do you want to know more about the different types of science? Explore biographies or non-fiction to find out how science changes our world?
As we read in class, we also journal. Journaling enables you to express your thoughts about what you have read. You are always welcome to use our essential questions to guide your thinking, but it is also helpful to use summaries, make connections to other stories, ask questions that you create, and simply write about what you liked and disliked.
I encourage you to check out other students journals to see what makes their writing strong and to get a better vision of how you can transform your journal into your own writing.
You can check out some of our best, most creative, or simplistic journals by clicking here and viewing my folder of student journals.
